History-Social Science offers students the opportunity to learn about the world and their place in it, think critically, and communicate clearly.  History, civics, geography, and economics are integral to the mission of preparing California's children for college, careers, and civic life.  The 2016 History-Social Science Framework for California Public Schools emphasizes important shifts in instructional practice by focusing on content, inquiry, literacy, and citizenship.  The Center for History-Social Science Education offers a number of in-person and archived online professional development, resources, events, and networking opportunities to help you meet the goals of the Framework and prepare your students become informed, actively engaged citizens in the 21st century.
