Objectives
This video walks educators step-by-step through filling out the tool. It provides an extended clip of classroom instruction and demonstrates how one student’s expressive and receptive skills might be rated using the OPTEL.
Purpose and Audience
This video demonstrates how to use the tool, but it does not review the components of the tool. It is best suited for educators who already understand the components of the tool.

Objectives
The objectives of the slide deck are for participants to:
- Observe an extended demonstration of rating receptive and expressive skills.
- Practice rating receptive and expressive skills and consider what additional evidence might be needed.
Purpose and Audience
This presentation invites participants to apply their understanding of the components of the OPTEL tool. It is best suited for educators who already understand the components of the tool and have a strong understanding of its foundational terms and concepts.
